American Indians in Children’s Literature announces Best Books of 2021

The American Indians in Children’s Literature website, created in 2006 by Dr. Debbie Reese of Nambé Pueblo, is a great resource which provides critical analysis of Indigenous peoples in children's and young adult books. It is one of our recommended go-to resources for librarians, teachers, educators, and readers looking for Indigenous books for kids and youth.

The website’s authors, Dr. Debbie Reese and Dr. Jean Mendoza have released their picks for the AICL’s Best Books of 2021. The list includes titles many Canadians will recognize, like On the Trapline, written by David A. Robertson (Member, Norway House Cree Nation) and illustrated by Julie Flett (Cree-Métis). Check out the list, and the great titles included on it!
